How CFMOTO develops agricultural UTVs for UK farmers
CFMOTO R&D team visits UK farms
At CFMOTO, developing the next generation of agricultural UTVs starts with understanding the people who use them every day.
Earlier this year, senior members of CFMOTO’s UTV research and development team travelled from the company’s headquarters in China to farms, dealerships and agricultural businesses across the UK and Ireland. Their aim was simple, to see first-hand how utility vehicles are used in real working environments and gather feedback that could help shape future models.
It’s not often that the engineers and product specialists responsible for designing a vehicle spend time on working farms thousands of miles from home. Yet that’s exactly what CFMOTO believes is necessary to build machines that genuinely meet the needs of modern farmers.
Rather than relying solely on reports, surveys or second-hand feedback, the team wanted to experience the realities of farm life for themselves. That meant spending time in farmyards, talking to farmers, riding in UTVs and seeing the daily tasks these vehicles are expected to handle.
Learning from the people who use them
Utility vehicles play an important role in day-to-day farming operations in the UK and Ireland. Common jobs such as transporting feed, towing trailers, checking livestock, carrying tools or moving equipment around the farm, mean a UTV is often one of the hardest-working machines on the yard.
During their visit, the development team met with farmers from a range of sectors, as well as CFMOTO dealers who support customers every day. These conversations provided valuable insights into what users like about their vehicles, the challenges they face and the areas where future models could be improved.
The UK and Ireland remain key agricultural markets for CFMOTO. Farming businesses here operate in a wide variety of conditions, from dairy and livestock enterprises to mixed farms and rural estates. As a result, customer feedback from these markets carries significant weight when future product decisions are being made.
Dealers also play an important role in this process. They work closely with customers throughout the life of the vehicle, providing servicing, support and practical advice. Their experience gives the development team a deeper understanding of how machines perform over time and where opportunities exist to make them even better.
Visiting dealers and dairy farmer Liam Curtis
One of the final stops on the tour was a visit to dairy farmer Liam Curtis.
With better weather than some of the earlier farm visits, the team had the opportunity to spend time discussing how UTVs support the daily operation of a busy dairy farm. From transporting equipment and materials to general farm duties, the visit provided another valuable perspective on the role utility vehicles play in modern agriculture.
The team would like to thank Liam for welcoming them onto the farm and sharing his experience and feedback.
Looking ahead
The insights gathered throughout the tour will help inform the future development of CFMOTO’s agricultural UTV range, including current and future UFORCE models.
The UFORCE range continues to grow in popularity with farmers, estate managers and rural businesses thanks to its combination of capability, practicality and value. By maintaining close relationships with dealers and end users, CFMOTO can continue refining its products to meet the demands of real-world working environments.
Many manufacturers talk about listening to their customers. For CFMOTO, that means getting out into the field, meeting the people who use the vehicles every day and understanding the challenges they face.
Because the best utility vehicles aren’t developed solely in a design office or testing facility. They’re shaped by conversations in farmyards, feedback from dealers and the experiences of farmers who depend on them every day.
